It is true what they say that with crochet you create a lasting Legacy. I still have blankets that my grandma made and which I use daily. 

I love these blankets and each time I look at one of her blankets I think of her, I don't know whether she realised what she was doing, but I sure do, and it is so wonderful to have these things in the house with me that she created, that her hands made, and to be able to even pass them on to my children, and maybe even their children is wonderful thought.

This Legacy Blanket is not only about passing on your makes to the next generation(s) but it is also a journey for you to go on. 

For you personally it is really more about the journey of making a blanket. It's not a blanket that you are going to make where you start today and finish in a few days. 

This is a blanket for you to have on the go at all times. You can have a hook, a ball of yarn and scissors with you and the pattern will be in your head. You can make the Anna square wherever you are, in whatever situation you end up where you just need to distract yourself. 

Then when you have made enough squares, maybe a year later, maybe two years later,...— I suggest you keep them in a nice box like my grandma used to do — you count them one day and then when you have decided you have enough for the size of blanket you want to make, take a day to assemble and just lay them out and put them together — ponder about the colour placement — and turn them into a blanket. 

Add a border and the stars if you fancy. This will be your lasting legacy of working on the squares, but they will mean so much to you. They will mean a lot more than just the part of a blanket. For you they were a journey to get there.
