In black 

Round 1

SK, starting anywhere with a STST, place 2HDC in each CHSP around, placing 3HDC, 2CH, 3HDC in the 4 corner CHSPs,

End by SS into the HDC after the STHDC.

Remember to ‘tug’ your stitches so your border is nice and flat and not wavy. 

Round 2 

SS to between the next 2 HDC clusters, CH2, 1DC, then place 2DC between the clusters, placing 3DC, 2CH, 3DC in the 4 corner CHSPs,

End by SS into the 1DC after the CH2.

Round 3 BOXES

SS to between the next 2 DC clusters, CH3, *place a DC in between the next two clusters, CH1*, repeat *-* all around, placing 3DC, 2CH, 3DC in the 4 corner CHSPs, 

End by SS into the 2nd CH of your starting CH. 

Tip!! make sure your CH is the width of a stitch! 

Round 4 

SS to next CHSP, CH2, 1DC, into the first CHSP, then 2DC in each CHSP around, placing 3DC 2CH, 3DC in the 4 corner CHSPs,

End by SS into the 1DC after the CH2. 

Cut off yarn and sew in ends.
