Harbour to Heights Crochet Along 2026: Everything You Need to Know
We are delighted to introduce our autumn 2026 Crochet Along: the Harbour to Heights Blanket.
Beginning on Friday 18 September 2026, this six-week Crochet Along will take us on a creative journey inspired by the extraordinary North Devon towns of Lynton and Lynmouth.
To join the Harbour to Heights Crochet Along, you will need to purchase the official Harbour to Heights yarn pack from the Ophelia Talks Crochet online shop. Your purchase gives you everything you need in yarn to make the original single-bed-sized blanket and supports the considerable work involved in creating and delivering the Crochet Along.
Each week, participants will receive a new section of the written pattern alongside a full step-by-step YouTube tutorial.
Inspired by Lynton and Lynmouth
If you have ever visited Lynton and Lynmouth, you will understand why this part of North Devon provided such wonderful inspiration.
The two towns sit between the sea and dramatic wooded cliffs. Down in Lynmouth, you will find fishing boats gently moving in the harbour, weathered stone walls, lobster pots and peaceful corners where you could happily sit for hours watching the world go by.
As you travel upwards towards Lynton, the landscape changes completely. Winding paths, rolling hills, towering cliffs and spectacular views create the feeling of travelling from the harbour to the heights above.
That journey inspired both the name and the character of this blanket.
During the Crochet Along, you will also see footage filmed on location in Lynton and Lynmouth. We hope these scenes will help bring the story behind the design to life while you are crocheting at home.
When Does the Crochet Along Begin?
The Harbour to Heights Crochet Along begins on Friday 18 September 2026 and will run for six weeks.
The planned weekly release dates are:
- Week One: Friday 18 September 2026
- Week Two: Friday 25 September 2026
- Week Three: Friday 2 October 2026
- Week Four: Friday 9 October 2026
- Week Five: Friday 16 October 2026
- Week Six: Friday 23 October 2026
A new section of the blanket will be released each week, giving you time to complete that part before moving on to the next instalment.
There is no race and no pressure. The aim is to enjoy six relaxing weeks of crochet, working through one beautiful section at a time.
How Will the Crochet Along Work?
Every Friday during the Crochet Along, we will release:
- The next written section of the pattern on the Ophelia Talks Crochet blog
- A complete step-by-step video tutorial on the Ophelia Talks Crochet YouTube channel
- Helpful guidance for completing that week’s section in the Facebook Group
- A weekly email with a reminder of the release of the video tutorial and the written pattern (if you bought the pack from us)
The written pattern instalments will remain available on the blog for six months. This gives you extra time if you fall behind, start later or simply prefer to work at your own pace.
Once the Crochet Along has finished, a complete embellished version of the pattern will be made available to purchase separately as a digital download. This will allow you to keep the full pattern in your personal crochet collection.
Is Harbour to Heights Suitable for Beginners?
Harbour to Heights has been designed to be an enjoyable and relaxing project for everyone from beginners to advanced crocheters.
The techniques used throughout the blanket are straightforward, with rhythmic sections and repeated rows that become wonderfully relaxing once you settle into them.
You do not need to have joined one of our previous Crochet Alongs. Even if you are a less experienced crocheter, you will be able to follow along with the written instructions and detailed weekly video tutorials.
We will work through every section together, step by step. If you have crocheted with Anja before, you will know that she never likes to leave anyone behind.
What Will We Be Making?
Over the six weeks, we will create a beautiful single-bed-sized crochet blanket.
There is a possibility to create a king size blanket, you will need to purchase two packs as a larger blanket will require more yarn and there will be instructions in the written pattern and blogposts for you to work to.
It has been designed to become a lasting part of your home: something you can drape across a bed, fold over a favourite chair or wrap around yourself during a cosy evening.
For us, crochet is about far more than completing stitches. It is about making memories, creating comfort and producing something that may become part of your family’s story.
Harbour to Heights captures that feeling perfectly. It is a blanket designed to be enjoyable to make, beautiful to use and treasured for years to come.
Harbour to Heights Yarn Packs
Official Harbour to Heights yarn packs are available from the Ophelia Talks Crochet online shop for anyone who would like to make the blanket exactly as shown.
Each pack contains the yarn required to complete the original single-bed-sized blanket when following the pattern and recommended tension. If you want a larger, king size, blanket you will need two packs.
We recommend ordering your yarn pack in good time before 18 September 2026, particularly if you live outside the UK. This will give your parcel time to arrive and allow you to prepare everything before the first instalment is released.
There is something wonderfully exciting about opening a new yarn pack, arranging everything in your crochet space and imagining what it will eventually become. It is a little like opening the first page of a new book—you know an adventure is waiting.
Join Our Crochet Community
One of the loveliest parts of an Ophelia Talks Crochet Along is seeing everyone creating together.
Although we may be crocheting in different homes and even different countries, for six weeks we will all be sharing the same creative journey.
Please share photographs of your progress in our Ophelia Talks Crochet Facebook group. Seeing the blankets develop from week to week is always one of the highlights of the entire Crochet Along.
Every project becomes personal and unique, even though we are all following the same pattern.
Our Facebook community is a welcoming place where you can:
- Share photographs of your progress

- Ask for help and encouragement
- See how other members are progressing
- Enjoy the experience alongside fellow crocheters

What Does Your Purchase Support?
A Crochet Along of this size takes many months of work to create.
Behind the finished blanket are the original design process, sample making, pattern writing, checking and preparation, photography, location filming, weekly video tutorials, editing, website work, customer service and ongoing support throughout the six weeks.
There are also the everyday overheads involved in running an independent yarn business and continuing to create crochet content for our community.
By purchasing the official Harbour to Heights yarn pack, you are not only buying the yarn for your blanket, you are directly supporting the work required to design, prepare and deliver the entire Crochet Along.
Your support enables Ophelia Talks Crochet to continue bringing you original crochet designs, detailed tutorials and carefully prepared Crochet Alongs.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who chooses to take part and support our small business in this way.
