Jam Jar Happiness Blanket CAL WEEK 6B
Jam Jar Happiness Blanket CAL WEEK 6B
Week 6B Front Border Wild flower meadow
Make sure you have the blanket facing you with the two strands of the SS.
Round 1: Using Teal, make a SK, starting anywhere on the blanket, YO, and insert your hook under the V of the slipstitch and do a HDC (=STHDC), then continue by placing 1HDC all around the blanket under every v.
When you meet the slipstitch in the corners with the stitch marker, you do 2HDC 1CH 2HDC in that slipstitch. You can now remove the stitch markers as you complete the corners.
SS to close the round.
Round 2: CH2, 1 HDC in each stitch all the way round, corners are made up of 2HDC 1CH 2HDC placed in the CHSP of the previous row. SS to close the round. Fasten off the colour.
Round 3: In Berry, make a SK, starting with a STSC, place 1SC in each stitch until you fancy doing a popcorn detail in a contrasting colour.
I placed mine randomly onto the border, concentrating them more on the lower end of my blanket. Work your way all the way round the border like this, corners are made up of 2SC 1CH 2SC placed in the CHSP of the previous row. SS to close the round.
Method for 5DCPOP detail
When doing the last SC before the Popcorn, pull through the new colour upon doing the last pull through and then working in the next st, and laying along the Berry colour, place 5DC. Upon performing the last pull through of the last DC, pull through the Berry colour. Take your hook out and reinsert it into the V of the first DC made, put the loop back around the hook and pull it through that first V. Then continue doing Berry SCs along the border.
Cut off the yarn used for the popcorn and tie it in a double knot. Leave ends hanging out as these will also disappear into the border once it is closed up.
Round 4: CH1, place 1HDC in each stitch all the way round, corners are made up of 2HDC 1CH 2HDC placed in the CHSP of the previous row. SS to close the round. Fasten off the yarn.
Finishing and final round: Joining of the borders
Round 5: Using Turquoise, and starting in the corner, SK, STSC in a corner, pick up the four strands of two adjoining stitches, i.e. of both borders. Work your way along the four sides and the corners are made up of 3SC. SS to close. Cut off yarn. Pull both the ends of the Turquoise into the border with your hook.
