Jewels Of The Nile: Kom Ombo

This week we sail our way to Kom Ombo, a small town in southern Egypt located on the east bank of the Nile River. It is famous for its unique temple dedicated to two gods, Sobek, the crocodile-headed god of fertility, and Horus, the falcon-headed god of the sky. The temple is well-preserved and offers insights into ancient Egyptian religious beliefs and practices.

CH1, turn, 1HDC in first st, *CH4, 1DC on top of the DC on its own in row below, CH4, 1HDC around the CHSP in the shell*, repeat *-* 10 times in total (you now have 20 loops), CH3, sk 2, 1DC on top of the next st, CH3, sk3, HDC on the next st, CH3, sk 2, 1HDC around the CHSP of the shell (you now have 23 loops) *CH4, 1DC on top of the DC on its own in row below, CH4, 1HDC around the CHSP in the shell*, repeat *-* to end, (you now have 39 loops) then CH4, 1DC on top of the DC in the row below, CH4, 1HDC on top of the last st of the row. (41 loops)

Kom Ombo 1         

CH1, turn, HDC in first st, sk 1st CHSP *CH 4, HDC around the next CHSP (placed just before the cluster of 4DCs), CH4, HDC around the CHSP (placed just after the cluster of 4DCs)*, repeat *-* to end, CH4, sk last CHSP, HDC on top of the last st of the row. (41 loops)

Kom Ombo 2    

CH1, turn, DC in first st, 4DC around CHSP, *CH3, SC around the next CHSP, 3CH, 4DC around next CHSP*, repeat *-* to end, 1DC on top of last st. (21 4DC clusters)

Kom Ombo 3

CH1, turn, HDC in first st, *CH 4, HDC around the CHSP (placed just after the cluster of 4DCs), CH4, HDC around the CHSP (placed just before the cluster of 4DCs)*, repeat *-* to end, CH 4, place a HDC on top of the last st of the row. (41 loops)

Kom Ombo 4 

CH1, turn, DC in first st, *CH3, SC around the first CHSP, 3CH, 4DC around next CHSP*, 

repeat *-* to end, CH3, SC around the next CHSP, CH3, 1DC on top of last st. (20 4DC clusters)
