Week 4  Elusive flowers

Introduction 

Sometimes when you see a field of green grasses, you might be amazed at how many pretty flowers are actually hiding in amongst the greenery. 

Here we are drawn into the field by one amazing flower only to discover lots of other colour too. 

Pattern

3D Ophelia Square 

Round 1 

SK, CH5, SS to make a circle, CH2, 15DC into the circle, SS, fasten off. (16)

Round 2 

SK, working only in the front loops of round 1, pick up any front loop and do a SC, *in the next st (FLO!) place 1HDC 3DC 1HDC, in the next st 1SC*, repeat *-* 8 times until you have used all the FLs and you have 8 petals. Instead of the last SC you SS into the very first one you did. Fasten off colour. 

Holding the work with the petals towards you, 

Round 3 

SK, YO, working only in the back loops of round 1, (fold the petals over towards you) insert under any back loop, and *create a corner of 2DC 2CH 2DC, 1HDCBLO in the next 3st, and then in the next st,* repeat *-* to end, SS to close the round, SS to corner (36)

Round 4 

In the corner CHSP, create a corner of 2CH, 1DC, 2CH, 2DC, then *(CH1, sk1, 1DC in the next st), repeat (-) twice more, CH1, sk1, 2DC 2CH 2DC into the CHSP*, repeat *-* 3 times, CH1, sk1, SS to close the round, SS to corner. (52)

Round 5 

Do 2CH 1DC 2CH 2DC in the corner CHSP, *sk1, 1DC in the next 9 st, sk1, 2DC 2CH 2DC into the CHSP*, repeat *-* 3 times, sk1, 1DC in the next 9 st, sk1, SS to close the round, SS to corner. (60)

Round 6 

Do 2CH 1DC 2CH 2DC in the corner CHSP, {then *sk 2, and place a dainty granny cluster of 2DCs in between the DCs of the row below.* repeat *-* 5 times in total, then sk3 and place 2DC 2CH 2DC into the corner CHSP,} repeat {-} to end, SS to close the round SS to corner 

Round 7 

SK, YO, inserting in between two clusters from round 6, start placing clusters of 2DCs in between the clusters, placing 2DC 2CH 2DC in the corner CHSPs. SS to close the rounds.

Round 8 - 21: repeat Round 7 

Each square should have 88 clusters at the end. (22 on each side)

Follow the order indicated in the table below and you will need to make 5 squares like this according to the colour table below. 

Please Note:if you are making this CAL from your stash and you don’t have the accessory of the webbing, you only make 4 squares here. Of course if you want to make your own webbing or you are able to buy it, make 5 squares.
