Odyssey Bag
Odyssey Bag Pattern
Multiple
8 +1
Height of design 10 rows
Measurements
Bag measurements
Panel measurements 33 x 35 cm / 13 x 14 inches
Panel needs to be wide enough to cover your cotton bag, so you might need to add a multiple of 8 stitches to make up for the width and do an extra amount of rows for the height (Row 4s LOL) at the end. This all depends on your tension.

For a simple bag cover, make two rectangles, join on three sides and insert the bag, and sew the top edge to the bag, making sure you keep the handles out.
For a luxury bag with stabiliser and a flat bottom, make two panels with cutaway corners at the base (see video and instructions) and construct the bag according to the instructions in the video (using a sewing machine, or by hand). These are called sugarbag corners.
To create the cut out, Turn, 1SS into the first 6 sts, then 1DC in each stitch until you are 6sts away from the end, turn and CH1, 1DC in each st,
3 rows in total
Chart (there are two repeats in this chart)
Colour A = White Squares = main colour for design
(Duck Egg on the back panel & Cream on Front panel)
Colour B = Grey Squares = background for design
Column 0 and 18 indicate the colour to be used, they are not stitches in the pattern!!
Repeat rows 17 - 26 throughout the bag,
Repeat of design goes from 1 - 8 repeated to end with column 17 added as last st.
Colour Table
You could also turn it into a cushion cover by cuttoing off the handles and sewing up the fourth side (or tucking the handles in!)
Good Luck and happy crocheting!
