Chronicles of Georgia

Front Border

There is no real front or back to the blanket

You can start where you want, I usually start in the middle of a long side, but this border has a multiple (5) that has to work out, so you might want to start at a corner.

Round 1

SK, starting with a STST, place 2FPDC around each DC post on the short sides and around each CHSP on the long sides, in the corners place 2CH, SS to close the round

TIP: do this very tightly so you do not get a wavy border

TIP:

If you want to ensure you have a multiple of 5 only do 1FPDC in two locations on the long sides, mark them with a stitch marker so that you can do the same for the back border and also mark the same locations on the opposite side so it is symmetrical.

Round 2

SK, starting with a STST, *1DC in the first st,  sk1st, 1DC, CH1, 1DC (=V stitch) in the next st, sk1st, 1DC in the next st* repeat *-* all the way around.

When you arrive at the corner and it does not work out, place DCs until you reach the corner.

For the corners place 2DC 1CH 2DC around the CH2SP of the previous round

SS to close the round

Round 3

SK, starting with a STST, *place 1DC on top of a DC, then skipping the DC of the V, place 3DC into the CHSP of the Vs created in round 2, skip the DC of the V*, repeat *-* all the way around. For the corners place 2DC 1CH 2DC around the CH1SP of the previous round

SS to close the round

Round 4

SK, starting with a STST, 1HDC in each st around

For the corners place 2HDC 1CH 2HDC around the CH2SP of the previous round

SS to close the round.
